The Mission of
Placer Dispute Resolution Service (PDRS)
The mission of Placer Dispute Resolution Service (PDRS) is to
assist individuals in Placer County in preventing and resolving
conflict through the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
and to provide training and education in community mediation.
PDRS is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation. PDRS is funded
primarily from grants and community support. Most fees for
service are based on a sliding scale determined by gross annual
household income for each party in two-party disputes with no
attorney involvement. Ask about fees for more complex
or multi-party disputes or disputes with attorney involvement.
Parties can choose to enter to a
written, binding agreement if they jointly agree to do so,
parties may
arrive at a verbal, informal agreement, or choose not to enter
into an agreement. Even when cases do not settle fully,
mediation facilitates the exchange of ideas which may help
the parties focus on key issues in the future.
